Industrial Offset U-Jaw Tongs

Over the years a few shops have needed a larger version of what we currently offer as the 1/4x1-Inch Offset tong. The basic principle of the Offset tong is to offset the jaw from the reigns/handle which then allows the material being held to pass through unobstructed. This means you can hold a bar of steel anywhere you want without running into other parts of your tongs. A favorite among knife makers & also among our smiths for forging out blades & tong reigns, the Offset tong is extremely useful. This particular pair was commissioned in a much larger size than we typically offer but at the same length as our standard tongs, which is approximately 18-Inches overall! The U-Jaw encapsulates the steel in a box like shape preventing it from moving side to side or up and down, the only disadvantage to this style of tong is the inability to hold many sizes of steel.

The Material used on these tongs was our standard 5160 spring steel!
